Adams Library
25 Boston Road
The original portion of the Adams Library was built in 1894 on land donated by Mr. J. Adams Bartlett. Amos F. Adams donated $40,000 to building and maintaining the library. He is the namesake of the building, and the library was dedicated as the Adams Library upon its completion in 1895.
Arthur Fitzwilliam Tait (an American artist) painted Amos F. Adams Shooting Over Gus Bondher and Son, Count Bondher. It was left to the library and rediscovered in 1985. It was sold in 1993 for $120,000 to fund the modern addition to the library. A reproduction can be found in the conference room on the lower level of the library.
